When it comes to my skincare routine, I have figured out that simple is best (for me), and even though I love trying out new products, I have found that these are the ones that keep my skin happy and healthy. They range from drugstore to high end and I’ve learned that not every product a brand makes works for my skin, which is why I need to mix and match. It has taken a while to find them, but I’m so glad to share these skincare heroes with you:
Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil Control Foam Wash:
I have tried several cleansers and though I enjoy many, this face wash has been my go to cleanser for both am and pm for over 5 months now. It is fuss free, smells great and gets the job done. My skin does not feel tight afterwards. I use it alone in the mornings and after my makeup remover in the evenings.
SK-II Facial Treatment Essence:
My skin has never been happier ever since I added this into my routine both in the mornings and evenings. It replaces my toner and serum and does an amazing job. It doesn’t break me out, leaves my skin soft, clear and healthy. I don’t know if this makes a difference for everyone, but it has certainly been a game changer in my routine. I can honestly say it has been the one product that has made the most difference in my skin. I am on my second bottle and plan to purchase the 7.7 oz soon.
Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief:
I have lost track of how many jars of this I have gone through. Here’s my review.
Once or twice a week I exfoliate using this and once a week I use this mask. What is the one skincare product that has made the greatest difference in your routine?
One of my favorite things about the summer is hitting the beach or being poolside and soaking in the sun with a great book. There is nothing quite like it. Here is a small round up of the books I hope to get through this summer. Most of them are authors that I have enjoyed reading in the past (hello Emily Giffin, Liane Moriarty, Emma Straub and the hilarious Kevin Kwan), so these are highly anticipated books for me. Is it the last day of school yet?? What’s on your summer reading list?
Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty
I have enjoyed every one of Moriarty’s books and last summer I went through all of them. Big little lies stands out for me. Her books are entertaining yet meaningful.
First comes love by Emily Giffin
I have been an Emily Giffin fan since my undergrad days at NYU. If I could make the time to get through all her books while getting my Bachelors and Masters degrees, I can make the time this summer to read her latest novel, which comes out June 28th!
China rich girlfriend by Kevin Kwan
I had such a blast reading Crazy rich asians that I can’t pass on this one. I have pre- ordered it and expect to be highly entertained.
Modern lovers by Emma Straub
The Vactioners was a great read- it reminds me of staying up late to read without having to worry about work the next day. I am looking forward to Modern lovers. It should be arriving in the mail any day!
After you by Jojo Moyes
As much as I didn’t want to like Me before you, I ended up loving it so much. I can’t wait for the movie to come out and am equally excited about this sequel.
I am so looking forward to reading this summer- on the couch, in the park, at the beach, …anywhere! As long as I don’t have to set my alarm for work the next day, getting lost in a book is my jam.
This song from Dum Laga Ke Haisha- I am beyond obsessed with this song, which made me love the movie even more. Definitely watch this light hearted yet full of soul movie on Netflix.
Coco mademoiselle Chanel– I have finally found my signature scent. After trying many different scents, I realize this is the one I come back to the most. It is season less in that it works for any time of the year, is strong enough to let people know you’ve arrived, yet subtle enough to have a lingering impact.
Chutney’s nose- My husband and I lovingly call Chutney “button nose” along with the many other names we have for him. His nose is the perfect button and is perfectly wet at all times. I love feeling his wet nose rubbing against my leg whenever he comes to tell me that he’s finished eating his food:) Love him so much
sea themed charm bracelet- This fun bracelet makes me excited for beach weather! Summer vacation is so close:)
Weddings- Weddings are beautiful and super fun to dress up to get all fancy for. Going to a wedding always makes me nostalgic about my big day. Plus it’s so nice catching up with old friends and have yummy food!
fig and olive- We recently went here and absolutely loved the food. The vibe is trendy and romantic. Do not miss the dessert tasting, which includes Pear Crostini, Chocolate Pot de Crème Crunchy Praline & Clementine Vacherin. Each of them were exquisite.
