As if a peanut butter cookie couldn’t get any better or a miniature peanut butter cup couldn’t get any better, put the two together and you’re in for a real treat. These are decadent, pack an intense flavor punch and most importantly super easy to make! Imagine a soft peanut buttery cookie bite combined with the chocolatey sweet and saltiness of that peanut butter cup. I don’t think there’s a better combo, is there?
I used the peanut butter cookie recipe from smitten kitchen. Once the cookies are done, simply take them out of the oven and immediately press a mini peanut butter cup inside each cookie. Let them cool for 5-10 minutes in the muffin tins before scooping out and placing on a cooling rack.
These are so good I bet you can’t have just one. I can’t wait to make them for my nephews:) I have a feeling they’ll be a big hit!!
Now that summer is approaching and we’re all bound to spend more time in the sun, SPF protection is crucial! I personally use SPF in some form or another every single day, not just on sunny days. If I don’t apply it separately, I use makeup that has some SPF in it. Even on cloudy days, UVA is present and can penetrate through the clouds and glass windows. The two most important reasons to wear sunscreen are 1) the sun’s UV rays can kill you (scary but true) and 2) the sun is responsible for 85% of the aging on your face. So in other words, the best anti- aging product you can invest in is a good sunscreen. Ideally you want a sunscreen with SPF of 30 or higher and one which states “broad spectrum”. Here are some of my favorite sunscreens and why: La roche Posay Anthelios SX SPF 15 This is the sunscreen that was recommended to me by my dermatologist at the time. I used this for a few years religiously, until recently when I learned that SPF of 30 or higher is needed. Other than the low SPF, there are no negatives. It is great for sensitive, acne prone skin and sits well under makeup. I love this brand of skincare. La roche Posay Anthelios 60 Ultra- light sunscreen fluid This is more lightweight than the one above and is great for days when you know you will be out a lot. I don’t care too much for the consistency, it’s very runny. It definitely feels like you have sunscreen on. I have not tried this under makeup yet. The SPF of 60 makes it on my list. Estee Lauder DayWear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Creme Oil-Free SPF 25 I absolutely love this one and used it all throughout the winter, fall and even early spring months. I love the consistency, which is not too thin yet sinks right in. It applies under makeup like a dream and smells oh so good:) I would highly recommend this! I also love that it is oil free. Lancome BIENFAIT MULTI-VITAL SPF 30 LOTION This is a non greasy option for warmer months/climate. It applies very nicely under makeup, does not feel like you have sunscreen on at all, and has a very nice subtle scent to it. I am very happy with this one as well. MDSolarSciences Mineral Crème Broad Spectrum SPF 50 UVA-UVB Sunscreen This is the new kid on the block for me and I have to say, I am really enjoying it. It absorbs immediately and has been helping to keep my skin matte all day! I don’t think it has much of a scent. This one is a keeper, especially for those of us who have oily, acne prone or combination skin. This is my first purchase from this brand and is promising. Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30 I continue to enjoy this primer. See my review here and here. How do you stay protected from the sun? What are your favorite sunscreens to use for the face?
Hi lovelies! I wanted to share with you my current toners which I rotate between… some of them are hydrating and others are acid/exfoliating. I know there are many people out there who don’t think this step is essential in skincare, but personally, ever since I started taking my skin seriously, I don’t think I could be without my toners. I have skipped this step at times and most definitely feel the difference. My skin feels tighter(in a good way, not in an uncomfortable way), balanced, softer and more supple after using a toner.
So here we go! These are my toner loves:
Aveda botanical kinetics toning mist: I have raved about this toning mist here and here. I just can’t get enough of it! I was about to purchase my 3rd bottle when I discovered the larger bottle which I can refill my spray bottle with- brilliant! This is my go- to morning toner, I like to generously spray it on after my cleanser. It absorbs immediately without leaving any kind of film, smells like roses and is just such a pleasure to use! This is probably my top toner.
Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist: This is a very soothing and hydrating toner which is nice to use when skin feels dehydrated, before applying a mask, when traveling especially on a plane, or when your skin just needs a pick me up during the day. I really love rose water and this toner packs a punch. It feels like relaxation in a bottle.
See my review here in May favorites. This is the newest addition to the toner family and boy am I loving it. Thanks to all my fellow Instagram beauty bloggers for recommending it! I am so happy with it.
How about you? Do you think toners are necessary? If so, which ones do you like?
May has been a beautiful month- the weather has finally warmed up and it’s been so nice to enjoy the outdoors! Also June is just around the corner which means the school year is coming to an end. light at the end of the tunnel…it feels great, especially after such a brutal winter. Here’s to many more days of warmth and sunshine:)
This is an extremely mild acid/exfoliating toner which I like to use before my hydrating toner. It contains 0.5% salicylic acid and has a ph of 2.9- making it one of the stronger exfoliating acis out there, while being gentle enough to use every night, as I do. The best part is that it’s alcohol-free.
I have recently been experiencing some random breakouts and this gel has been a savior in keeping my skin calm and has helped keep the redness and irritation at a minimum. Clinique never disappoints and is the one brand that knows hows to keep it simple. When your skin craves basic care without the bells and whistles, this is my go to skincare.
This has quickly become the mascara I reach for constantly. It lengthens and curls my lashes like no other mascara has. I highly recommend this for those of us who already have long lashes and are looking for a curling effect.
This past month I’ve really been enjoying having smoothies for breakfast using the nutria bullet. My favorite combination is greek yogurt, unsweetened almond milk, frozen or fresh blueberries, honey and lots of ice!
I hadn’t gone to the movies to see a bollywood film in a long time and this was worth the wait. This is a touching story of the love between a father and daughter. The actors really make this movie memorable. Don’t forget to have some tissues nearby though, because it definitely tugs at your heart strings:)
Estee lauder is currently offering an amazing gift with purchase and I have to say the best part is the tote! It feels luxurious, super soft and is incredibly spacious! I’ve actually been using the tote ever since I received my gift with purchase in the mail and I think this is the best gift EL has done so far…
Your 9 piece gift with purchase will include:

I saw pioneer woman make this the other day on her show and had to make it! I wasn’t sure if it would come out ok with frozen blueberries, but it turned out great. This cake is moist, sweet and tart at the same time from the berries, and just the thing in the morning or afternoon with a cup of coffee, and served warmed with a pat of butter… so go ahead and indulge a little!
I started taking my skincare seriously a few months ago- around 6 months ago to be exact. Before that I was mostly a drugstore kinda girl. I did, however have some pretty bad hormonal acne and couldnt figure out why. So I started doing a ton of research and came upon a line by Estee Lauder called clear difference. I had never used a single Estee Lauder product but remembered that my mom swore by it. So I went out and purchased the clear difference serum, having heard good things about it. I honestly didn’t know if it would work but started using it every morning. Well it worked- it cleared my skin. Since then, my collection of clear difference has grown and I now own every product in the line (shown above). Not only that, but Estee Lauder has quickly become my favorite skincare brand. Why? because it works! (for me). Here are the products in this line and what I like them:
Clear Difference Oil Control/Mattifying Hydrating Gel: This gel moisturizer is very light weight yet hydrates the skin so well. I like to use it every night and in the mornings along with SPF. I love the scent because it’s not too strong. This has the nicest texture of any gel/cream I have ever used. Unlike other gel moisturizers I’ve used, this actually hydrates my skin.
Clear Difference Advanced Blemish Serum: This serum has a light texture to it, which has a matte finish and absorbs within seconds. I use it every morning. It works well under makeup too! Also has a nice scent (all the products in this line have the same scent). I am on my 3rd bottle.
Clear Difference Complexion Perfecting BB Creme SPF 35: I have never been big on BB creams until this one came along. The color matches my skin tone perfectly, has a matte finish but also hydrates my skin. It is not greasy at all and provides just the right amount of coverage for weekends or lazy mornings!
I don’t have a single negative thing to say about this line. I came across it through trial and error and wanted to share it with you. I know how frustrating it is to struggle with acne prone skin. I have finally found something that works for me and hope it will do the same for you!
The following products are tried and tested by me and have worked really well for my skin. These are products that I always have back ups of and would not think about switching anytime soon. They do not irritate my skin. I have repurchased each of these a few times already.
