I’ve been doing project life now for two years and when I first started I was using the becky higgins core kit in sea foam (no longer available), which I really enjoyed. I have to say though that ever since I discovered studio calico’s monthly kits, doing project life has been even more fun. I look forward to the monthly kits and they definitely motivate me. I have been falling behind though, and need to complete the rest of the year in my 12×12 album. I will be starting January 2015 in a 9×12 album from studio calico and I plan to continue my monthly kit subscription, because even if I fall behind, it’s nice having a beautifully themed box to open when I’m ready for it and takes a lot of the work out in terms of color coordinating.
Most importantly, my loving husband bought me a photo printer for Christmas, which I am so so excited about!! No more having to wait for photos to arrive in the mail, which honestly was the biggest turn off for me and made me even consider abandoning project life. Now I can print them wirelessly, from anywhere in the apt, and I can customize the sizes! I am in love with my new printer. I highly recommend printing photos at home for those of you interested in starting project life this year.
This year I plan to include more journaling in my layouts, even though the focus will continue to be on the photos. I also want to get my better half’s perspective before jotting down our memories. I’ve been good about taking photos (thanks to instagram) but need to save more “memorabilia”, like movie stubs, tickets, small wrapping, packaging, or anything else that can be used as a souvenir.
Here are some photos of today’s work on project life. I used the studio calico walden project life kit. I haven’t even opened the december and january kits yet and just got an email this morning that the february kit has been revealed! Yikes I have lots more PL to do!
How about you? Do you do project life? What size album works best for you? What are your plans for 2015?
